No one should want you to be successful more than you!

I was apart of a conversation yesterday and it made questioning myself. The word SUCCESSFUL came up. Someone said they wanted to be successful. The other person asked two questions "why do you want to be successful and what are you doing to make that happen"? Those two simple questions made me pause and ask myself the same thing. We all have used the word successful but I pulled out my smart phone for the definition. Successful-achieving or having achieved success, having attained wealth, position, honors, or the like, resulting in or attended with success. A few days ago I took notice that I wasn't creating like I should. I'd allowed other things to get in the way and pushed me off the road of success. I want to be success but I wasn't working hard at it. I picked myself up off the couch and headed to my desk. I created some earrings and sold one pair the next day!!!

I have friends and family tell me how proud they are of me and my success. I've been told I have million dollars business not because of the money that's coming in but they know what hard work and dedication can do. This made me think of how absolutely no one should see or want you to be successful more than you! Success is not going to fall in your lap. You will have to work long hours, do jobs you don't feel like doing, and make your self known but realize in the end it will all be worth it.

Beauty is ME (Duafe earrings of the day)

My earrings of the day are these Blazing Duafe Earrings. That are hand created and designed with beauty in mind. There are many ways to define beauty but the best way to describe beauty is by looking in the mirror and saying BEAUTY IS ME!! Get your Duafe earrings from Napptacular and let your beauty shine.

DUAFE   "wooden comb"

symbol of beauty and cleanliness; symbols of desirable feminine qualities

The meaning of this symbol is characterized slightly differently in "The Adinkra Dictionary" and "The Values of Adinkra Symbols"; the former emphasizes more abstract qualities of feminine goodness, love and care, while the latter has a more literal interpretation, looking one's best and good hygiene. In any case, the duafe was a prized possession of the Akan woman, used to comb and plait her hair.

Success Strategies for African Americans by Beatryce Nivens

This book "Success Strategies for African Americans" is one that every entrepreneur should have. A Guide to Creating Personal and Professional Achievement. I personally believe you can not have any successful professional growth without successful personal growth. Someone gave me this book over 10 years ago before I had any serious thoughts of being an entrepreneur and I am so grateful. There were a few businesses I thought I wanted to try but I never followed through with them. I highlighted so many parts in this book and lost pages. This became my go to book when I was trying to figure out my path for a better life. There are 3 chapters,

Chapter I. Taking Care of Your Mind-addresses self-esteem, thinking big, affirming your success and more.

Chapter II. Taking Care of Your Future Dreams- addresses dealing with fear, taking the risk, and strategies for the entrepreneur.

Chapter III. Taking Care of You-addresses the number one thing taking care of yourself, managing stress and time, giving back, and going for it.

If you do not own this book make sure you order it today.

What's your favorite make-up brand?

Make up has been a very distant friend of mine. When I was in high school Famous & Barr (young folk don't know much about them lol) Fashion Fair was my make up hook up. I did the full face make-up everyday for a few years. That all come to a halt when I went through my TLC hat to the back with my pants down real low stage. I started wear the baggy jeans, over sized shirts, jersey's (Larry Johnson my crush :-}), hats and chucks. I would wear eye shadow and lip gloss for special occasion but never for work or everyday life. Many years later I wanted to do the popular Red Lip and when I did I found like blonds...Red Lips have fun LOL. My coworker even gave my new love for lipstick a new name" Lip Dressin". While trying to be different and see what works I purchased the brand NYX lip gloss and I love it! I've tried their lip gloss Crème' Braille, Ginger Snap, and Angel Food. They go on easy. Not sticky or thick and they have the most delicious scents. The colors are great also for those ladies that are looking for a day lip color for work. Ladies, I say give these a try, then come back and tell me what you think. Also, leave your make-up tips and brand that work for you.

What is NAPPTACULAR?

The word Napptacular has become apart of my everyday life. It crosses my mind everyday in one way or another. How will it grow? Where will it take me? What are my next steps to make it better....great? What I've realized is that Napptacular is BIG and it is a noun...it's a person, place and a thing. When you say or see the word Napptacular what comes to mind first? Is it a Sista with a nappy fro, loc's, twist/twist out, a puff, braids, or a low cut? Is it a Sista with a nappy do and she's killin it with her make-up, clothes, and shoe game or is it a someone with a natural style of their own that you have to stop, stare and give a smile and nod of approval?

Napptacular is beauty and I know some women that gives the word Napptacular Life. I'd like to share a few of them with you. These young ladies are rockin my Napptacular T-shirt or hand created earrings and showing their Napptacular swag.

THIS IS WHAT NAPPTACULAR IS <3

Hoping or Working, which one are you doing?

How hard are you working for it? Are you hoping or working? This picture made me stop today and ask myself, Tammy are you hoping Napptacular become a successful full time business or are you working hard for it. I knew the true answer but I also knew that I am on the right track. If I'm questioning myself then I'm aware and I know what's lacking. People we have to work harder than hoping this is a must for you to have what you want. So LET'S GET MOVING AND MAKE IT HAPPEN!!

Creative Flow

Most of you that know me knows my mother passed in September of 2015. She lost her fight to pancreatic and liver cancer. After we found out she had Cancer for 2-3 years there was always something for me to do. Doctors appointments, medication, make decision with her and our family, my daughter was a HUGH part of her care, hospital visits and hospital stays. While all of this was going on creating took my mind off the negative. When I first started she was shocked, then she was amazed, and finally she was proud :-). When she told me she was proud of me I felt so good inside because I couldn't remember a time when she'd said that to me. Every piece of jewelry I created she wanted for herself LOL. When my mother passed my creative flow came to a stand still. I wanted to paint but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Well I sat down and made 3 new pair and it felt good. As I type this I'm smiling because I can hear her saying....OHHHHH I WANT THOSE :-)
